“Homemade” was conceived as a series of four frameworks around which four solo dance works were created. The purpose of designing a notional structure or framework was to give the body points of reference in space.
At times the dances are constrained within the parameters of the frameworks, other times they break out of them. By entering and exiting predefined pathways the body negotiates boundaries, edges and borders. Through these encounters we observe moments of comfort, confinement, restriction, frustration, rage, empowerment, defiance, rebellion, obedience, permission, fear, surrender, defeat, determination, sensuality and freedom.
